Troubled Marriage
Am I to blame for troubled marriage?
I’ve been with my husband for 13 years on and off again, married for 3 years. We’ve broken up in the past due to other women. He never tells the truth I found out by listening to v/m or his emails. He comes back ready to make the commitment , I fall for it and 2 years into the marriage I find out about multiple woman again by listening to v/m. Find him at his old high school friend/gf house. He has gifts hiding in his trunk with cards saying I love you and blames it on his friend that he’s just keeping it. e-cards, sexually explicit messages. He says it’s my fault because I don’t do the laundry, I don’t cook (from scratch), I’m not the tidiest person and I’m not sexually charged (about 1x a month). We work opposite schedules, me day, he night 7 days a week. He knew my faults from day one he’s tried to hide his. Not to mention the fact that I’m the breadwinner. Am I to blame?
Ok wait.. you’re blaming yourself because he’s cheating? So what if you don’t always have sex? Ok, you’re not Donna Reed and not Betty Crocker. But you make an effort, don’t you? And guess what… marriage is a 2 way road. Does he cook at all? Does he do laundry? Does he help clean up?
Seriously now. He’s tried to hide himself for years. He buries himself in other women, hides gifts and expicit items that are for OTHER people. When was the last time he bought YOU something? Does he do anything to be romantic with you?
I seriously think that he has a commitment problem and you really need to tell him that if he’s not with you and doesn’t stop the straying, that he needs to leave permanently.
You don’t deserve this kind of treatment, regardless of your faults.
Please take care of yourself. You need to be happy for you, and you deserve someone who will love you for everything you are, not someone they want you to be.
